Spray Nozzle Engineering (SNE) provides high-performance fire
protection nozzles and specialised spray technology for fixed and special hazard fire protection applications throughout New Zealand.
Since 1988, SNE has supplied engineered spray solutions for demanding fire protection applications, working with leading BETE fire protection nozzle technology to provide solutions for deluge systems, fixed fire suppression, vehicle fire protection, tunnels, marine and offshore facilities, and above- and below-ground applications.
SNE also offers a range of patented pre-engineered fire protection nozzles designed for fixed assets and mobile equipment. Our foil-protected nozzle technology provides a robust metal-to-metal sealing solution for both water and foam fire suppression applications, with brass and stainless steel construction available.
BETE Fire Protection Nozzles
As the New Zealand partner for BETE fire protection nozzle technology, SNE provides access to a comprehensive range of BETE nozzles for specialised fire protection applications.
BETE offers a wide selection of nozzle designs, spray patterns, flow rates and materials to suit different fire protection requirements. Nozzle selection can be based on key performance parameters including droplet size, spray coverage, distribution, spray drift and spray density. BETE’s fire protection range includes products tested and approved by recognised authorities such as FM, UL and Lloyd’s Register, depending on the specific nozzle.
BETE fire protection nozzles are used across demanding applications including offshore facilities, petroleum storage and transfer, LNG facilities, refineries and other critical industrial assets.

Fire Hose Reel Technology
SNE also supplies advanced fire hose reel solutions for industrial and emergency response applications through its Reel Tech range.
The FireDog™ fire protection reel combines direct-drive technology with features designed to improve hose deployment, reduce operator effort and provide controlled rewind. Options include mechanical clutch technology, free-wheel hose payout, manual emergency override and controlled braking.
For applications requiring controlled hose layering, Flat Winder™ level-wind technology provides consistent hose storage and easier deployment while reducing manual handling requirements.
The range also includes Hannay Fire and Rescue reels, providing established hose reel solutions for demanding firefighting environments.
BM Foil™ Vehicle Fire Suppression Nozzles
The BM Foil™ range is designed specifically for harsh vehicle and mobile equipment fire protection applications.
The nozzles produce a consistent distribution of small to medium-sized droplets in standard and wide-angle solid cone spray patterns. A patented foil protection system shields the nozzle orifice from dust, dirt and contamination before activation. When the system operates, the foil is designed to burst and fully dislodge, helping maintain consistent spray performance.
BM Foil™ is particularly suited to mining, forestry, agriculture and heavy mobile equipment, where fire suppression nozzles can be exposed to high temperatures, dust and severe operating conditions.
The design does not rely on O-rings, rubber or silicone seals, helping reduce potential degradation and adhesion issues in harsh environments. Optional dust caps and lanyards provide additional protection prior to system activation.
BM Foil™ nozzles are available in a range of spray angles, flow rates and BSP or NPT connections, with brass, stainless steel and combination-material configurations available to suit different applications.
